Coucou, Hola, Hallo Friends!

Thanks for peeking at this slice of life I’m about to share.

I’m Kristelle, pronounced the french way, like "Mich-elle” “Krist-elle” and I’m a woman of the world. I moved a lot in my youth, by the age 18, I had lived in 12 different places. I’ve lived and explored the US, the Caribbean, Europe, North Africa, and South America. Home for me, most definitely, is where my heart is.

Language learning for me has always been very intuitive. My parents spoke French, Spanish and English at home. In my volunteer work as an immigrant child advocate, or in my creative work voicing characters for social justice films, documentaries, or acting in commercials and theater, being trilingual has proven extremely useful! I love that a young Salvadorean girl in LA, for example, shared with me that she had never met an actress from El Salvador before. I find this touching and powerful. Visibility is key for a greater understanding and respect across cultures.

My education spans public schools in Spain, homeschooling in the US, a performing arts middle and high school in France and a Theater Conservatory in Argentina. I also did exchange programs in Berlin and Austria. I teach beginner German thanks to this time living there. In each setting I threw myself into academics, the expressive arts, and found fun ways to communicate my vision of a more loving approach to cultural differences.

Now after 6 years of building Living Languages with Kristelle, I’m honored to continue expanding my reach to students worldwide with a variety of backgrounds. Apart from teaching, I offer translation and interpretation services in French, Spanish and English.

I empower my students, of all ages, to find their own connection to the language they are learning. We do this via song, poetry, podcasts, music, cooking, films, etc..any element that they are drawn to. This is the “living” component of my curriculum, it’s catered to each student individually, based on their interests and learning styles.

For me, “foreign” languages don’t exist, every language on this earth is part of our global makeup, and perhaps when I meet a being from another dimension, I will then have to learn a “foreign” language (wink).

I teach with an anti-racist and non-colonial mindset.  I use Montessori and Waldorf techniques as well as my intuition and cultural experiences living across the globe, as the tools to connect with my students. I find that a play/interest based approach works best with younger learners. 80% of my clients are referral based, thanks to the loyalty of my past students, including some well known celebrities.

To all those who refer me, I thank you from the bottom of my polyglot heart!

My goal is for you to feel safe to expand your brain capacity and your heart; to a new culture, a new lexicon, and a new world of communication within you. I teach via Zoom, Google Hangouts, Skype and Facetime. Thank you for reading! I look forward to our time together.
